The MCP server is the main way agents work with Amplitude. It's vendor-hosted and OAuth-authenticated, at https://mcp.amplitude.com/mcp (EU: https://mcp.eu.amplitude.com/mcp). Agents can read charts, dashboards, notebooks, experiments and cohorts, run segmentation, funnel and retention queries, and create or edit most of those same objects, plus feature flags and metrics. Access follows whatever permissions the user already has. Role-based access controls and a Slackbot surface arrived in June 2026.
Amplitude calls the wider story "Headless Amplitude" (amplitude.com/headless): the MCP server plus an amp CLI (github.com/amplitude/developer-cli) for scripted, repeatable commands. Service accounts can authenticate with OAuth 2.0 client credentials for jobs with no human in the loop. A separate read-only Docs MCP server serves the public docs, no auth needed.
On the product side, Custom Agents and Agent Connectors shipped in June 2026, alongside Session Replay Agent v2 and AI Feedback Auto Analysis.
